Writer Jackson- the Legend II

With all of the people I'd talked to, and all the people I thought knew so much saying it was a false myth, and there was no such thing I was getting very discouraged. Till one day in a library, an elderly man said he's heard of the name Writer Jackson.

According to this guy, he claimed to be a retired Clear Channel producer, but he probably was just an average clear channel employee. He stated that a disc jockey in Wisconsin or Minnesota created the persona of Writer Jackson and started the whole myth. He even created the part of the myth that stated he helped Elvis get signed, inspired a few songs, and helped him write his music. This was new to me. The man said he had to leave and left it at that. He told me to look into the Esoteric world, I might find something there.

I looked into the older esoteric groups in the late 60's, early 70's and I ran into a Wisconsin Newspaper dated November 18, 1970 that stated that "Writer Jackson was going to finish his 5 year long advanced higher thinking regime lead by a great Tibetan master." Writer Jackson stated that this man could cleanse us all, but we must want to be cleansed. And most of us, do not want the cleanness. He walks out of this place in the hills of Tibet, there's no mention of him before and no mention of him after.

I was reading Ken Keesey's memoirs, and he comment s about the band the grateful dead, but there is a moment when a man talks to him by the name. W. Jackson. I'd read that before, but it left my sights. Is it possible that the inventor of the psychedelic acid movement of the late 60's and early 70's actually knew Writer Jackson, and Writer Jackson in considered an esoteric master. But there is no more said.

I ran into a young man who had just spoke with Geffen from Geffen records, and he said that when he walked in, there was an older man in a long grey trench coat, a grey hat, and it was tipped very far. The end were slightly tattered, but his clothes didn't seem the wear. He was called in, but he never left the building. The man I had met, stated that his brother was waiting for him out front and never saw a man with anything close to that description come out

After talking too a great number of people and a lot of research, I mean a lot. We're talking going into old diaries of the right and famous, that are now sitting in clean rooms.

Here's the story

Writer Jackson - The Legend

When I was a child I lived in Los Angeles, CA. We lived near the Hollywood Strip and my mother worked at an expensive Italian car dealership in Santa Monica. The Alfa Romeo dealership was on the corner of Wilshire and....but that's where my memory fails me. I only remember there was a bar there at the very corner, and a Spanish restaurant named Tampico Tillie across the street. Where this place is located is unimportant, I just wanted to know where I was.

Often times I would be stuck entertaining my self with crayons and paper in the front "waiting area" of my mom's office. This area is where the customers would wait to cash out, most of the time they'd begin talking to me, and I made a lot of "new" friends; that are all now making millions of dollars making movies or putting out albums.

One day; however, I overheard a young man who I had no idea would be the musical legend he is today, and a stuffy older man who was his agent. (I've decided to leave names out of this because, number 1, I don't want to be a name dropper. This is about Writer Jackson, not these people; and, number 2, I don't want these people's names affiliated with this myth. For some reason this myth bothers a lot of people, and it is assumed that many people might have been killed because of this myth being leaked out.) The two men were talking, and the agent in a louder than their previous whisper voice said,"But he's no Writer Jackson."

No name immediately caught my attention and ear. What a unique and awesome name. The agent grasped his mouth in a look of shock, as if he wasn't suppose to say that. The younger man laughed and almost fell on the floor. After a good laughing, he straightened and said in a very nice English accent,"You're not suppose to say that. Remember? That was a special piece of info. The agent cleared his throat and agreed. Then he looked at me. They quickly waived me away with not so much as a thought.

My 8 year old gears begin grinding. I asked everyone I knew who was interested in music, if they had heard of Writer Jackson. With a name like Writer Jackson, most people would remember something like that. For years I ran into a lot of laughing in my face, and a lot of disappointed head shakes. Btu I knew, there was some sort of truth to this whole thing.

The Good of Wikipedia

Wikipedia is touted as a bad site. Wikipedia is also touted as a site of errors. (In fact you can see a number of these errors on this site). Wikipedia has billed itself as a web-based encyclopedia, but it is a glorified blog-space. However, all that info came from somewhere. That somewhere had to have some sort of info on it. We got it!!

No matter what piece of information you're looking for on Wikipedia, there is a list of references on the bottom. The coolest part, is that these are links to where whoever wrote this section of the Wikipedia Blog, obtained it from some sort of source. All Wikipedia sections have this space at the bottom that is reserved for sources and where you get the info you just pasted up. Most of these sources will have real and legitimate information. Many souirces are actually hosted by Universities and Colleges.

So in the end, Wikipedia, not the best place to find information. The sources at the bottom of a Wikipedia page, is a great source of info.

Wikipedia lesson to all

Wikipedia is considered the greatest thing since sliced bread. However, this opinion is only held by those who do not understand the errors and frequency of problems that Wikipedia has. (see other Wikipedia posts for info on this) Upon teaching English, this was a very hard concept for people to understand. Especially since, for some odd reason whatever you search for on Google, Wikipedia comes up immediately. Since this is the case, many believe ti to be the most pertitient information available. unfortunetly, it is not!

In order to teach my students these things I decided to ask them to do a resport on a few authors. Before hand, I wrote on most of the Autuhor's Wiki-pages that they enjoyed lounging in a tub of waffles and syrup. As part of the report requirements, they had to write down something odd about the Author. It doesn't get much odder than the waffle and tub thing. The number one rule was no Wikipedia info and no plagerism. Half of the people in the classes wrote down some varriation of their author lounging with waffles in a tub.

When I pointed this mere fact to them, they all felt very ashamed, yet learned a valuable lesson.

Wikipedia and the journalists of the World

I just saw this in the Yahoo newspaper, and I thought to myself, "Self, what a great thing to show to people." And so, agreeing with myself, I take upon myself to show as many people as I can.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Irish-student-hoaxes-worlds-apf-15201451.html?.v=1
The above link is a story of a Irish college student who decided to write a "poetic farewell" from a recently deceased French poet in an experiment to see if anyone noticed. No one did! Journalists around the world copied down his quote as real, and it went out into the world as reality.

The entire world used Wikipedia as a source of correct answers, and were: WRONG!!! When I taught English, I raved the problems of Wikipedia: Wikipedia is not checked! Wikipedia is a glorified blog site. Wikipedia is not the answer to your questions. All information on Wikipedia needs to be checked!

Wikipedia - Not the perfect encyclopedia. But obviously, a lot of journalist think so.

How to Take your Dog's Blood Pressure

http://www.gomestic.com/Pets/Taking-Your-Dogs-Blood-Pressure.703461

Your fury faced friend, your dog, is as much a part of the family as most children. Dogs are there for you through think and thin, beating and petting. Dogs try to please you, and understand your faults. The only thing any dog asks you for, is to please take care of them because they are not perfect at taking care of themselves. Back in the day, when dogs were dogs, and the packs were alive - dogs had the ability to help themselves. Now, you are their pack and your dogs need you to help them.

One of these best ways to help your dogs is to take their blood pressure. To answer the question you just asked yourself: You'd take your dog's blood pressure for all the same reasons you'd take yours, your kids', or your uncle Lou who eats too much pasta.

Please click on here for a way to take your dogs blood pressure and help them out!

Millionare gives his all

http://www.authspot.com/Short-Stories/Short-Millionaire-Story-Interviews-of-Change.703477

Wouldn't it be nice if suddenly a millionaire gave everything to change the world. This is kind of what this blog has become, a way to change the world in bits and pieces. This idea of giving is running out of style, and maybe we should begin again. What if someone like Bill Gates gave all of his money to "the people" in a very public out cry of help and emotion? What would happen? What would it be like? That's what this short story is all about.

This short story I wrote is about a very rich man named William Fences, who with tons of money, has never really given anything to anybody. Today, all of that changes! William Fences now has the ability to make a change in a number of people's lives. Does he do it? According to one DJ that was interviewing him, Yes! Is this DJ's story accurate, or is he just going for more publicity?

Read the story here and you be the judge. Enjoy it!
