In Fitzgerald's famous novel The Great Gatsby; Gatsby, or the man who goes by the personna that is known as Gatsby, kills off pieces of himself, so that others can prosper. Jay Gatsby is very much like a pruner of his souls. Fitzgerald did something wonderful with The Great Gatsby, he created a mythical creature that walks, talks, and transfroms right before your eyes. James Gatz/James Gatsby/Jay Gatsby three disctinly different people, and each one created to such an extent that anything that was or will be does not matter.
