Gandhiji, or what has become spelled as Ghandi, was a lawyer who decided there was something that needed to be done in the miuddle of the violence that was ghoing on in his country. In the process, Gandhiji( Ghandi) has taught us how to think, view the world , and believe in the fact that one person can change the world. In his Thoreau based nonviolence, praying, and speaking protest towards the things that he saw were wrong. Many say it was his opinion he was forcing on others: This is a valid argument, but Gandhiji only stated that he thought we should treat ourselves better.
Here are a few of Gandhiji (ghandi) quotes as an example of his teachings (so you can decide):
"Be the change you hope to see in the world"
"A man is but the product of his thoughts what he thinks, he becomes. "
A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history.
"Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well. "
"A man who was completely innocent, offered himself as a sacrifice for the good of others, including his enemies, and became the ransom of the world. It was a perfect act. " - Ghandi's view of himself. As if this was merely what he knew he was suppose to do, and he knew he would end just as he did. And that was ok!
The man who killed Ghandi walked up to him in the street. He bowed to him as if seeking advice, and shot him three times. What a full act of Betrayl many have yelled. He was and is nationally mourned. Many have been appalled of this - but I say
It wasn't a bad thing!
This man bowed to him in respect. Ghandi saw this and very well might have seen the gun as well, but the man was put in front of Ghandi for the one purpose he was on this planet for. He released the most powerful force and tool that Ghandi had left in his arsenal. Per Ghandi's belief, Ghandi's advanced and evolved soul was finally allowed to grow and add itself into the vast currents that connect us all. By his passing, it has awakened many many lines of energy to turn toward the positive. Since his death, his vision, his dreams, his thoughts, and his way of life has become a model of peace and humanity. Ghandi's soul and energy still guide us into a future filled and signified by goodness and acceptance.
What do you think? Am I completely off base?
