Ted or Ed?

Edward Kennedy, the patriarch of the first family of Democratic politics, died late Tuesday at his home in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, after a lengthy battle with brain cancer. He was 77. I copied and took this directly off of the baynews.com website. What I'd like to point out is the differences in the names. The headline is "Ted Kenendy is dead. The article says Ed kenedy is dead. Which one is it? Did Ed go by Ted as well? Did Ted go by Ed. Is Ted the patriarch....to my feeble knowledge it was Ed. This seems like pretty important information for a the 5th largest newspaper in the united states to make. Go find otu yourself. But, when they decided to drop that flag, I hope they know who they're lowering it for.

Help people, help ourselves

It's a given point that everyone needs our help. From the most rich person in the world who needs a little pick me up, to the poorest person who just needs some food to sustain their life. We all need help, and every one of us can do a little something to help improve our world.

We are all connected, so it makes sense to try to help everyone who come across your path. In an effort to promote this helping attitude and "helpful revolution" as I've come to call it, I have added a new item to this blog.

To the right, you'll notice a little box that flashes ways to lend a helpful hand, or a small thing that everyone can do to encourage, help, and thereby make the lives of other better.

In the same vein of helping people, here are 10 ideas to start helping:

- Help by taking out your neighbors trash when it is trash day.
- Help by putting newspapers that are in driveways on people's porch.
- Help by picking up excess newspapers of people who are on vacation.
- Help by mowing your neighbors lawn.
- Help by mowing anybodies lawn (Especially if you have one of those riding lawn mower)
- Help by buying a hungry person a meal.
- Help by paying for the next person in line at a toll.
- Help by giving a toll collector a lump sum to use to pay for as many people as it will cover.
- Help by paying for someone else's drive-thru order.
- Help by picking up a pencil someone dropped.

Odd things in the English language

Our language is crazy, there's no doubt about it. Ask any kid just learning to spell or just learning grammar and he'll tell you the same thing. So I compiled a few oddities for your enjoyment. Let me know what you think!

Read(past tense) = red – said the same way

lord does not equal word, but does equal sword

What are the Right charities, and not scams.

Many people in a recession or in this pre-depression era are looking for more and more money. This is not a surprise to anyone. Get onto any blog or a website about our world, and you'll see the economy is on everyone's head. It's not that surprising, since money and pay seems to be the big topic of the world. Why money shouldn't be such an important topic of another piece of work on this blog, so we won't get into that right now. If yuou are neading some help, many of these charities will help you, and hopefully get you back on your feet.
However, some people would like to give some money back. When you have very little money, that's especially the time to start giving it away. The more you act the act of giving moeny, the more that will be given to you. It's a truth that has been propegated and used for centuries; and IT WORKS!!!

What are the right charities

This is a very good question, and one that I asked myself earlier this month. Here are a few websites that will help you with this decision:


1) The Charrity Guide is both an outside of the net run site, as well as an users comments sites. The site reviews all the charities and it also allowes users to make comments about what happened with their interactions witht he charities. They also list a large number of charities, their purpose, links to the these charities, as well as a blurb as to what they have done in the past. Because remeber, as the site states: "Not all charities are managed well. Charity ratings from Charity Watchdog groups can help you tell the difference between good charities and bad charities." In this essesnce, they will also allow you to donate from their site.

This is an article that is listed on MSN.com about the charirties that are out there, and what donating to a charity can do for you. This is a money centralized article. The main point of the article is to make sure you aren't throwing your money away by donating to the wrong charity. With those items said, this site has a nice comprehensive list of "good" charities.

3) The charity Navigator bills themselves as "America's premier independent charity evaluator". The Charity navigator looks intot he business aspects of the charity. They will list how much was given to specific locations and activities. This tool allows you to know exactly whewre your money is going, and will tell you where your money will be most useful.
